How does Base Camp work?

For locally employed staff:

  • You provide Stratcon with a job description of your ideal local candidate
  • Stratcon searches for and filters through potential applicants via a series of interviews and reference checks or recommends existing members of the team with relevant experience
  • Stratcon provides a short list of candidates CV’s with interview observation notes
  • Stratcon offers advice on salary and employment packages for relevant candidates
  • You would then be expected to visit India to undertake the final round of interviews or hold interviews via video conference
  • Once you have selected a preferred representative, Stratcon makes an offer to that person to work for the company to deliver the objectives specifically set out by you or assigns them full time to the project if they are an existing member of staff
  • Stratcon manages the ongoing expenses, infrastructure and local logistics in line with the client’s expectations
  • Ongoing local support, office infrastructure, guidance and reporting is provided by Stratcon
  • Base Camp provides each client or a group of clients a full time / part time local dedicated staff member with significant industry knowledge related to the client’s activities.

For expatriate staff:

  • You choose the candidate as per your norms and provide him with his objectives and management requirements
  • You clearly inform the person concerned that his services would be with our company and he would have no legal links with your organisation.
  • You clearly inform the person(s) that all instructions for work and / or related expenses and the terms of their appointment would be provided by us. Clearly, all these items would be provided by us based on your instructions and requirements.
  • You clearly inform the person that he would have to carry our company’s identification (visiting card) and our letter head.
  • It may be noted, that as per our norms, we do not allow any quotations to be issued by our company. Accordingly, we do not raise any invoices on your ultimate customers. It naturally follows that all commercial activities will be carried out with correspondence on your letter head and all quotations and / or commitments will be made directly by you from your overseas offices to the ultimate buyer. In the process, all monies are paid directly to you and we do not and will not accept any such payments.
  • We do NOT carry out any sale – purchase and or import and sale business.
  • We provide all documents that are needed to apply for issue of suitable Visa and for registration as per Indian laws with the ‘Foreigner Regional Registration Office’. We would not be responsible for issue of or acceptance of any such application and the person concerned would have to be responsible to follow the laws of India and the limitations set up as per rules applicable to expatriate employees in India.
  • Should the laws of India and / or authorities require that the person be repatriated for any reason whatsoever, we will carry out any / all steps that are provided under Indian laws to facilitate his repatriation.
